This is a simple FAQ for now.

Q. Who can register?
A. Anybody from a university can register (*.edu email address). Everybody else needs an Invite Code. The idea is that this site is primarily for students, but students have friends who don't go to school. So the end result is that students can give Invite Codes to their friends. In otherwords, if you invite via email, anybody can join!

Q. Is this all free?
A. That's our goal. We have no plans to spam, sell emails, sell personal information, show popup ads, show banner ads, or become assholes in general.

Q. How come I sometimes don't get email notifications?
A. Our system is designed to prevent 'spam-like' emailing practices and delays emails purposely. It also doesn't send you emails on things you've already read (like if someone added you and you already approved it). The exception is for registration, password recovery, or other critical emails.

Q. How does popularity work?
A. See the and icons? Use it to give people popularity points. When you give someone popularity points for a journal entry or a forum post, it also applies those points to that entry, which then allows us to calculate the "most popular journal entry" or to block "unpopular forum posts."

Q. Why don't I see the thumbs up/down buttons??
A. We limit the number of votes you can give out each day. This is to prevent popularity points from becoming two-cent whores.
